Faculty: Class Projects

The mission of The Parenting Project: Healthy Children, Families & Communities is to integrate extension and research activities in the area of parenting education across New York State. As such, the project has established a network of Extension professionals involved in parenting work in Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) associations statewide. Many of these CCE associations are involved with a number of parenting programs or projects in need of evaluation work, but Extension professionals may not have the time or resources to do the work themselves.

Students: Applied Research Opportunities

The Parenting Project: Healthy Children, Families & Communities often works one-on-one with students for academic credit or experience. In the past, students have co-authored research briefs on a variety of topics such as autism, fatherhood, and the effects of divorce. Students have also analyzed qualitative and quantitative data for annual reports. 

Due to increasing interest, we are expanding opportunities for students to include: 

developing skills in writing literature reviews, analyzing qualitative or quantitative data, designing surveys, creating graphic documents to illustrate key findings and conducting key informational interviews or focus groups.

Students: Internships

The Parenting Project: Healthy Children, Families & Communities has partnered with the Cornell Cooperative Extension Summer Internship Program to place summer interns working on parenting-related internships across New York State.
