Overview
First-year and transfer students applying to the following undergraduate majors are required to submit a design supplement, in addition to completing the Common Application:
All supplement materials must be submitted via SlideRoom.
Current Cornell University students applying to internally transfer to College of Human Ecology majors also need to complete the internal transfer application process in addition to the design supplement for their desired major.
Applications submitted to these majors without the required supplement will not be considered. Design supplements are critically evaluated by department faculty and are considered in conjunction with a student's full application materials (Common Application, transcript(s), etc.).
Submission deadlines
Design supplements submitted after the listed deadlines will not be considered.
First-year applicants
- Early decision: November 1, 2025
- Regular decision: January 2, 2026
Transfer applicants
- Fall external transfer applicants: March 15, 2026
Internal transfer applicants
Current Cornell students applying for internal transfer must also complete the internal transfer application process.
- Spring transfer: December 1, 2025
- Fall transfer: May 1, 2026
