Leighton Beaman Wins Architizer Award For Good

Masoro Health Center in Rwanda

General Architecture Collaborative, a design nonprofit cofounder by Associate Professor of Practice Leighton Beaman, Wins Architizer Award For Good.

The Masoro Health Center in Rwanda by General Architecture Collaborative was named the winner of Architizer’s 2021 Award for Good. The Masoro Health Center in Rwanda is a public campus offering comprehensive healthcare and wellness programs, improved hygiene standards, and spaces open for all community members regardless of their health or financial status. The project navigates Rwanda’s severe topography through a series of terraces differentiating curative services, administrative functions, preventive care, maternity services, and public gathering. The project was also one of five finalists from across the globe for Architizer’s award for healthcare.
