Biography
Becca is a doctoral student in the Department of Human Centered Design. Her research draws on her background in psychology and social science research, as well as six years of industry experience, to provide evidence-based design recommendations to improve the lives of young people through the design of the built environment.
Research interests
Becca has presented in a variety of venues and published multiple peer-reviewed papers on the topics of trauma-informed design, participatory design research, and the use of color in healthcare environments. Majoring in human behavior and design at Cornell, Becca's doctoral research focuses on developing a comprehensive approach to applying trauma-informed care principles to the design of mental and behavioral health facilities for adolescents to support long-term recovery and resiliency in the face of adversity.
