Research with a Public Purpose: What I’ve Learned, and What I Wish I Knew
Many faculty seek to enhance their research by working in partnership with communities, at the local, state, national, or global level. Research-practice partnerships are rewarding, innovative, and impactful but can also be challenging. In this symposium you will hear from three faculty experts who have built strong and meaningful research-practice partnerships. They will share some of the key elements of successful partnerships, as well as what they wish they had known going into this work. Opening remarks will be provided by Adam Gamoran, President of the William T. Grant Foundation, which supports universities in building research-practice partnerships that reduce inequality in youth outcomes.
