Lynda Xepoleas receives Stella Blum Student Research Grant

Alice Shongo

Congratulations to Lynda Xepoleas, Fiber Science & Apparel Design Ph.D. ’22 candidate.  Lynda received the 2022 Costume Society of America Stella Blum Student Research Grant for her research titled “Exhibiting Haudenosaunee Dress at the New York State Museum: The Clothing and Textiles of Alice Shongo and Maude Shongo-Hurd.”

The Costume Society of America (CSA), founded in 1973, fosters an understanding of appearance and dress practices of people across the globe through research, education, preservation, and design. The Stella Blum Student Research Grant is intended to assist the research of a current student who is a member of the Costume Society of America and conducting original research in the field of North American costume. Xepoleas’s research will be published in Dress, the journal of the CSA.
