Joanna Fiddler, PhD; Postdoctoral Associate Jlf299@cornell.edu *Education:* Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK M.S. in Health and Human Performance, Exercise Science, Oklahoma State University B.S. in Nutritional Sciences, Oklahoma State University *Current Research Activities:* I am interested in gene-nutrient interactions, particularly related to folate and iron metabolism. The projects I am currently focusing on are 1) understanding how alterations in mitochondrial de novo thymidylate biosynthesis plays a role in mitochondrial health and disease, and 2) understanding the impact iron deficiency has on metabolic pathways and physical performance.	Katarina Heyden, Doctoral Candidate keh67@cornell.edu *Education:* B.S. in Nutritional Science, Cornell University *Current Research Activities:* My research interests include molecular mechanisms of nutrient metabolism and how these mechanisms change with disease states. My current research project is centered around B-12 and folate metabolism, investigating how these nutrients interact and how they impact mitochondrial function and integrity.

My PhD research focuses on characterizing the metabolism of erythritol, a novel human metabolite and biomarker of cardiometabolic disease risk.
