Dr. Preeti Panda, Class of 2011

Preeti is currently a physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and will be starting her fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Stanford University in July 2021. Her research focuses on the intersection of medicine, human trafficking and complex childhood trauma.  
 
After graduating from Cornell, she worked with underserved youth at a charter high school through Americorps VISTA, where she encountered children with histories of prior abuse and human trafficking. These experiences led her to pursue work providing healthcare for human trafficking victims during her time at Albany Medical College, where she earned an M.D. with Distinction in Advocacy. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University/Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH, where she founded a medical clinic for survivors of child trafficking (The Haven Clinic).
