Executive Master of Health Administration Student Reflections Video 00:00 I was interested in joining Cornell 00:03 because of the world-class education I 00:05 was going to get I was going to be 00:06 exposed to new ideas my expectation was 00:09 I wanted to get something that is 00:12 applicable to what I do I'm living 00:14 through the healthcare world on the 00:16 hospital-level day-to-day I think this 00:18 provides additional perspective on a 00:21 higher level perspective that gives me 00:23 better structure and understanding of 00:24 what I do when I started looking into 00:27 the Cornell program and saw that it 00:29 would provide the rigor that I was 00:30 looking for I really wanted to learn and 00:32 grow as an individual as well as if I 00:36 was going to invest the time I wanted to 00:38 make sure that I was going to exit the 00:40 program better than I entered I didn't 00:42 know what to think about the virtual 00:44 platform at first the asynchronous 00:45 classes are super flexible they've been 00:48 super engaging the strength of knowledge 00:51 of the instructors has been 00:52 excellent 00:53 we've gone from what I thought would 00:54 just be a group of students that I would 00:56 interact some with to an extended 00:59 network that I know is going to last for 01:01 the rest of my career the great part 01:02 about this program is because it's 01:04 online because it's not in person I have 01:07 the additional flexibility of kind of 01:09 planning out my days finding spots that 01:12 works with my own schedule on where to 01:14 invest the time and when to when to do 01:16 my studies when to do my homework with a 01:18 little planning I'm able to still be a 01:20 present mother and a present employee 01:23 and a present community member and I'm 01:26 still able to learn and connect with my 01:28 cohort in a way that is enriching it's 01:32 all about time management it's realizing 01:34 that this is 18 months that you really 01:36 have to dedicate yourself but it's going 01:38 to change your perspective your outlook 01:40 and how efficient you are as a manager 01:42 not only is the instruction world-class 01:44 but the folks in the classroom the level 01:48 of professionalism among the group is 01:49 amazing can't say it hasn't been very 01:52 challenging but that's what we signed up 01:53 for if we didn't want to be challenged 01:55 we probably wouldn't have chosen Cornell Sloan Program in Health Administration
