Wei gained his master's degree in public administration from the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs with a concentration in Economic and Financial Policy. Prior to Cornell, he ran a nonprofit organization for two years, dedicated to improving livelihood of the visually impaired people in Hangzhou, China by providing them with professional training, and special workshops on how to use computers and cellphones, which helped them access the Internet. In January 2017, Wei was invited to United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in Bangkok, Thailand as a Chinese representative for entrepreneurship. 

Apart from his engagement in the public sector, Wei also has experience working in the private sector. He interned at Bosch Packaging Technology as Product Manager Assistant for six months, conducting research on competitors and potential markets, and organizing marketing campaigns for Bosch's packaging machines. While he was pursuing his MPA degree at Cornell, he worked for Lifelong, an NGO that aims to enhance the lives of the older adults in Tompkins County, as a marketing consultant for four months to help develop efficient marketing strategies to raise Lifelong's profile and attract more customers. In December 2018, he traveled to Beijing, China during the winter holiday, and worked at Ogilvy as a public relations consultant for five weeks. He was responsible for establishing international marketing strategies for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, and crisis communication. Between June and November in 2019, Wei interned at Hylink Digital Solutions, an international marketing and advertising agency, as a marketing strategist. He worked with U.S.-based companies including Estee Lauder, Hilton, and Brand USA to establish localized marketing strategies to develop their businesses in China and other emerging markets, and conducted a large number of market research across different industries.

Wei has passion for, and experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, product/project management, customer relationship management and public speaking in both the non-profit and the private sector. He is eager to bring his experience and passion to the field of marketing and advertising, and strategy and operations consulting.
