Biography

 

Fran Kozen is an Extension Associate and Associate Director of the Cornell Institute for Fashion and Fiber Innovation (CIFFI).  She facilitates industry collaborations with faculty and students and maintains close ties with FSAD alumni working in the fashion industry. Ms. Kozen has taught numerous textile and fashion management courses in the FSAD department.  She organizes and leads an annual Study Tour to New York to provide opportunity for FSAD students to observe first-hand functions within the fashion industry and to network with alumni.  Ms. Kozen functions as the outreach liaison for hte department, responding to questions from the public, and the Fashion Industry and offering programs for youth career explorations.  Prior to coming to Cornell, Ms. Kozen conducted consumer behavior and market research for the Fashion Industry.

I encourage students to consider the applicability of fiber, fabric, finish and apparel function and performance knowledge throughout the fashion industry supply chain.  In that context, I foster group problem-solving and require writing and presentations that would be appropriate for management.
