About the University
The University of Navarra is a top ranked University offering 57 undergraduate degrees and 46 postgraduate degree programs. The University has six campuses, with the main campus located in Pamplona, which is where the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition is located. The principal language of instruction is Spanish. Since its foundation in 1964, the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Navarra has provided an academic program that offers each student well-rounded education and training, and pursued a commitment to meeting the highest standards of excellence in both teaching and research. It was the first university School in Spain to offer a program in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and is a world-leader in relation to studies of obesity. The university also runs a teaching hospital, where 2,045 qualified professionals handle more than 100,000 patients each year, and a medical center research, CIMA, that focuses on four main areas: Oncology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular Sciences, andGene Therapy and Hepatology. It has a total of 11,252 students, 7,952 undergraduates and 1,178 Masters, 834 Doctorate.

About the Exchange Program
Undergraduates students from Human Ecology may spend a semester studying in the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition. Half of their courses can also be taken in other departments.The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition has 90 agreements with international universities and other educational centers for exchanges and internships abroad. In recent years the School has worked towards increasing the international experience of its teachersand students. 20% of their students are international. It was awarded Campus of International Excellence 2011 by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Pamplona, the capital of the region of Navarre, is situated just south of the the Pyrenees and the French border. It is a modern, hospitable city that offers a high standard of living and a great many parks and gardens, enough to rank Pamplona among the European cities with the most green areas and recreational spaces per capita. It’s best known for the Running of the Bulls (Feast of San Fermin) in July.

Courses Taught in Spanish
Although the language of instruction is in Spanish, a number of courses are offered in English. The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition offers partners schools a variety of programs encompassed by its two undergraduate degrees: Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Nutrition students can bring back courses towards their major requirements. The following courses have been approved as NS equivalents:
Nutrition and Health is approved as an equivalent NS 1150 (fall)
Public Health (nutrition) is approved as an equivalent to NS 1600 (fall)
Human Anatomy is approved as an equivalent of NS 3410
Structural and Functional Biochemistry is approved as an equivalent to NS 3200

A variety of accommodations are available. The University of Navarra Housing Office provides information on the different kinds of housing and advises students to help them find a place to live, not just a place to eat and sleep. One option are the University Residence Halls, on-campus centers that provide students with housing that promote cultural activities toward service to the university community and society. Local apartments are also a popular choice.

Exchange students pay tuition to their home University. Cornell Students pay Cornell tuition. Housing and travel expenses are additional.
