About the University
Paris-Sud is one of the largest and most respected French universities, particularly in science and mathematics. Paris-Sud is ranked 2nd in France, 7th in Europe and 42nd worldwide by the 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). Furthermore, in this latest edition of ARWU ranking, the university is ranked 15th globally in the field of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; in the five general subject rankings, the university is ranked 7th in mathematics and 19th in physics.
The University of Paris-Sud is a distributed among several campuses in the southern suburb of Paris (including Orsay, Cachan, Châtenay-Malabry, Sceaux and Kremlin-Bicêtre campuses). Paris-Sud's School of Medicine at Kremlin-Bicêtre campus has 4,200 students in which 1,400 are following the first and second cycle of medical studies. The School of Medicine is dedicated to the basic training of physicians and nurses, as well as all postgraduate specialty medical training. Paris-Sud's network of state run hospitals, as well as the Gustave Roussy Cancer Institute and the Marie Lannelongue cardiothoacic surgical center, are training hospitals.
About the Exchange Program
Undergraduate students enrolled in Human Ecology may spend one semester, and in some cases, up to a year, studying at the Faculté de Médecine at Université Paris-Sud. Paris-Sud has over 350 Erasmus and bilateral agreements. Examples of Partner Universities for the Medical field are Cardiff University (Wales, UK), Università degli studi di Roma "La Sapienza" (Italy), Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (Germany), Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia), , Instituto Universitario Italiano de Rosario (Argentina), and Université Saint Esprit de Kaslik (Lebanon). Located in the south of Paris, Paris-Sud University offers a high-quality cultural and sports environment within large, protected green spaces. The Faculty of Medicine is located in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre next to metro (line 7), tramway (line 3), RER (line B) and Velib' (self-service bike system) stations. It is a 15 minutes ride from the Cité Internationale Universitaire.

The Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris is home to 10,000 students, researchers and artists, with over 140 nationalities, 40 houses and a host of services. The Cité's park spans 34 heactares and is home to the most extensive range of student accommodation in the Paris Region. The USA foundation was designed to embody Franco-American friendship and provide accommodation for US students and researchers in Paris.
The USA Foundation comprises 267 rooms, along with eight artist's workshops and nine rehearsal studios. The building's interior has retained its original Art Deco style. The spacious lounge is decorated with frescoes by Robert La Montagne Saint-Hubert, depicting the history of French art through different periods.
