Consumer Education Program for Residential Energy Efficiency
The Consumer Education Program for Residential Energy Efficiency (CEPREE) is a joint program between the Department of Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell University and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The goal of this program is to increase consumer awareness on the importance and benefits of residential energy efficiency. Under the leadership of Professor Joseph Laquatra and Extension Associate Mark Pierce, and in partnership with NYSERDA, County Extension Educators conduct Save Energy - Save Dollars workshops for low-income households throughout the System Benefits Charge (SBC) territory. Workshop participants learn how to implement no-cost and low-cost measures that reduce energy expenditures related to heating, lighting, and appliances.
