DEA Students Podcast Ergonomic Tips - Audio and Video
Department: DEA
In his DEA470 Applied Ergonomics class, Professor Alan Hedge worked with his students to create CUErgopods – audio and video podcasts that bring the latest research on ergonomics for computer users into the real world setting of student life on campus. To visit the podcast page, click here.
Alan Hedge comments, "I wanted a project that would be leading-edge, challenging, yet fun for the students, while at the same time teaching them about the principles of good ergonomics for computer users. Students are familiar with podcasts, so having them make their own audio and video podcasts for the iPod and computer seemed an excellent way to teach new skills and also expand our delivery of educational content about computer ergonomics. Students chose their topic, researched it for the latest information, wrote and recorded an audio script and choreographed and recorded a video clip, and used audio and video editing software. Given the time and resource limitations, they did an outstanding job and the results are online for all to see. We are all excited by this new way of delivering just-in-time educational content in bite-sized chunks that users can select and carry with them to listen to or look at whenever they have time. We hope that people like the CUErgopods and find them useful and we'd love to hear feedback."
