Biographical Statement: Professor Gibson is a design educator. She practiced contract interior design for seven years before joining the academy. Her expertise is in computer-aided design (CAD) where she investigates the effect of digital media on creativity, studio processes, and decision-making. A second area of investigation centers on mid-twentieth century modern design and its historical impact on the interior design field and profession. |

Current Research Activities: Professor Gibson investigates a wide range of topics dealing with computer-aided design (CAD) and human behavior. Studies include the relationship between physical and virtual wayfinding, designing offline space using online navigational data, and interactive exhibitions. A second area of investigation centers on mid-twentieth century modern design and its historical impact on the interior design field and profession.
