OMNIThe Community and Rural Development Institute, in cooperation with faculty in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management in Cornell University's College of Human Ecology, operates a program to support not-for-profit institutions. OMNI (The Office for the Management of Not-For-Profit Institutions) provides research, management, and capacity building services for public and nonprofit sector organizations. OMNI employs a wide range of techniques such as interviews, facilitated groups, statistical analysis, concept mapping, web based brainstorming, internet surveys and community based data collection to evaluate the implementation, outcomes and impact of client programs and services. In addition, OMNI offers management, capacity building, and leadership training for "startup" and established organizations including strategic planning, knowledge management, program evaluation, and community network development. These efforts include workshops, training programs, conferences and the Summer Institute for Not-For Profit Leadership Development. Among OMNI's clients are: U. S. Department of Health and Human Services; Americorps; New York State Department of Labor; New York City Youth Employment Bureau; New York State Department of Health; New York State Council on Children and Families; various community hospital and human service organizations in New York State and beyond; Metropolitan County Government, Albany, NY; Public Education Curriculum Development, Lafayette, NY; the City of Ithaca Youth Bureau.
