DEPARTMENT OF

Human Development

Research opportunities for undergraduates who major in Human Development are extensive and valued as an important part of the learning experience. Human Development provides its majors the opportunity to engage in substantive research with some of the leading scholars in their field. Engagement in research provides an excellent foundation for a research or professional career.

In Human Development, students may become involved in research with the guidance of a faculty member. Students may apply to join a faculty member’s research program. Students may enroll in HD4010, Empirical Research, and earn credit while working on a faculty research project. HD majors may also enter the Human Development Honors Program, a two year program designed to allow a small number of talented undergraduates the opportunity to formulate and carry out an independent research investigation under the supervision of a member of the departmental faculty.
