Jeanne Moseley is the program coordinator for the Cornell Global Health Program. After completing her undergraduate education, she served for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a rural village in The Gambia, West Africa. During this time, she had the opportunity to travel in many countries throughout western and southern Africa. After returning from The Gambia, Jeanne was a public school teacher for two years in an inner-city school in Atlanta, Georgia. These diverse and rich experiences led to Jeanne’s strong interest in global health, as well as her passion for working with impoverished and vulnerable populations both in the United States and abroad. Jeanne has a MPH in International Health from Emory University and was a graduate fellow in the Center for Health, Culture, and Society at Emory. She conducted a research study with HIV positive women in South Africa, and coordinated the Sudanese Refugee Food Survey Research Project in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, Jeanne worked for three years as a research scientist with the HIV Epidemiology Program of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She also served as the Project Director/Co-Investigator for the Correction Case Management at Rikers Island Outcome Evaluation Study.

Global Health Advisory Board

In the fall of 2006, a Global Health Advisory Board was established to direct the development and activities of Cornell’s Global Health Program. The Board is composed of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students from across colleges and departments.  The members of the Global Health Advisory Board represent diverse disciplines related to global health, including infectious disease, entomology, veterinary medicine, ethics and social justice, philosophy, medical anthropology, nutrition and agriculture/forestry. The unique perspective each Board member brings to the table helps to create the truly multidisciplinary Global Health Program at Cornell. Thus far, Board members have provided critical guidance and feedback on the development of a new global health course, the establishment of a university-wide global health lecture series, and the creation of a Global Health Minor for Cornell undergraduate students.
