Application Information
Apply on-line only at www.DIApply.nutrition.cornell.edu to apply. Be sure to begin your application early so that your references will have time to be contacted and submit your references by the deadline.
Computer-matching applications must be submitted online by January 15 and must include:
- The completed on-line forms including:
- three references with e-mail contact
- personal statement of your goals and how our internship facilitates you achieving your goals
- scanned DPD verification statement or declaration of intent
- scanned unofficial transcripts from all schools
- $60 non-refundable application fee
- Applicants must participate in computer matching, should request instructions and a mark sense card from D&D Digital Systems, 137 Lynn Avenue, Ames, IA 50014; and must submit their card by the February 15 postmark deadline. Serious candidates should list Cornell as their priority to increase their placement chances.
Preselect applications must be received on December 20. Only Cornell University DPD students are eligible for the pre-select application.
Selection Applicants are ranked according to the following, in order of importance:
- Telephone interview
- Excellence of references
- Relevant paid or volunteer work experience in at least one dietetics practice settings
- Quality of personal statement and 'fit' of goals with Cornell Dietetic Internship
- Strong learner as evidenced by academic record (average GPA 3.5 of 4.0 with range 3.0 to 4.0)
