Consumer Education Program for Residential Energy EfficiencyThe Consumer Education Program for Residential Energy Efficiency (CEPREE) is a joint program between the Department of Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell University and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. The goals of this program are to increase consumer awareness on the importance of energy efficiency and educate consumers on the multiple benefits of energy efficiency and building practices that support these principles; promote specific programs that encourage the purchase and installation of energy efficient products and the incorporation of comprehensive building practices; spur consumer demand through education and incentive programs; and develop and support the midstream market infrastructure that brings these products and practices to customers. Any New York State homeowner, renter or multifamily building owner is eligible for the New York Energy $mart℠ Programs as long as electricity is delivered by one of the following utilities
New York Energy $mart℠ programs are designed to lower electricity costs by encouraging energy efficiency as the State's electric utilities move to competition.
