HEAA Student Representative
The Human Ecology Alumni Association (HEAA) seeks to
fill a vacancy in one of the two student representative positions on the Board
of Directors. The term begins immediately and runs through June 30, 2011.
Current sophomores and juniors in the College of Human Ecology are eligible to
apply; applications must be received by September 28, 2009.
2009 HEAA Student Representative Roles
and Responsibilities
- Represent and communicate the
Human Ecology student experience to the HEAA.

Represent the interests of Human
Ecology students as it concerns the work of the HEAABoard of Directors (on
behalf of the Alumni Association) by attending the HEAA board meeting in Ithaca
each year and attending out of town Board meetings whenever possible.

Represent and speak about the
HEAA to interested student groups.
- Advise the HEAA and HE Alumni
Affairs & Development (HE AAD) on ways to increase student and recent
alumni participation in HEAA activities and programs.
- Suggest additional programs
or activities for current students and recent graduates.
- Suggest ways to utilize new
or existing communications vehicles to promote HEAA programs and initiatives to
students and recent graduates.
- Assist in marketing, planning
and staffing the annual HEAA fall Board-Student-Local Alumni luncheon &
other events as applicable.
- Assist HE AAD & HEAA
Student Affairs committee with focus groups to solicit student input on HEAA
programming and initiatives.
- Participate in other HEAA
committee activities and HE AAD student outreach efforts.
- Actively participate in the
Student Affairs Committee grant review process (3 cycles per year), including
grant review conference calls & any follow-up necessary.
- Participate in – and provide
feedback on – HE AAD's CyberMentors Program.
- Assist HEAA committees with
succession planning for continued student participation and representation in
the HEAA.
