Please note that this letter must be submitted to the Office of Alumni Affairs & Development by the application deadline in order for the Committee to consider your application. Applications lacking the required letter of support will not be considered.

Amount requested from the Human Ecology Alumni Association Student Grants Fund:

If your grant is approved, you will be required to provide a written report on your experience, to be shared with the Human Ecology Alumni Association Board of Directors. Please refer to the Grants Guidelines for more information.

Please also note that the IRS considers fellowships/scholarships/grants to be reportable and taxable income, although no tax is withheld at the time of payment to students.

  • If you are not a U.S. citizen and do not have a "green card" or permanent resident card (also known as an alien registration card), please complete the Foreign National questionnaire available at: http://www.payments.cornell.edu/Foreign_Nationals.cfm
  • Foreign Nationals who do not have a "green card" and are not resident aliens will be subject to a 14% tax withholding from the payment unless a tax treaty applies, which is determined by the completion of the Foreign National questionnaire.
