Human Ecology is committed to providing essential, business related tools for faculty and staff in a manner that promotes proper stewardship of university funds.
Once a business need has been defined, read the university Personal Communication Device policy for available options. Department/Unit owned devices will continue to be paid directly by Cornell via p-card or payment request. Use the CHE Personal Communications Device Form in place of the DFA form referenced in the University policy for those eligible for a supplemental communication allowance. Mail completed form to Jeanine Masse, BSC (If delivering personally, bring to the second floor of Mann Library).
Conversion for payment to personal means must coincide with the effective date of the supplemental communication allowance. The user is responsible for contacting their carrier to request transfer of payment to personal means.
Purchase of department/unit owned device may be made directly on Cornell funds. Purchase of devices for plans supported by a supplemental communciation allowance can be paid directly on Cornell funds via procurement card or paid personally and reimbursed. The maximum device payment or reimbursement is $300, subject to supervisor approval.
