The Career Development Center provides a wealth of resources including trained career assistants, a career library, career-related workshops, study abroad materials, computer kiosks, and more. Specialized presentations designed to address a variety of career issues can be arranged at the request of departments or student groups. For information, call (607) 255-2988. Communecology is a weekly electronic newsletter that is emailed to all Human Ecology students. It contains essential information including registrar deadlines, job and internship listings, information on career fairs and workshops, research position openings, off-campus opportunities, student organization announcements, alumni opportunities, and more. CornellTrak provides Cornell Career Services’s web-based set of services, including email notices about upcoming career events, full time and summer job and internship listings, on-campus recruiting, alumni contact information, salary information, job search tips and more. All students are encouraged to register as early in their college career as possible. AlumNet links current undergraduates with alumni already working in their field for informational interviewing purposes. Also used by alumni as a networking tool. Experiential Education complements classroom training through internships and off-campus study, giving students opportunities to test their academic interests through practical experience. Students can elect to study abroad for a cultural or internship experience, or gain valuable field experiences in several off-campus domestic programs. Career Workshops are offered in Human Ecology and are advertised each semester in the CDC, in Communecology, and on flyers throughout the building. Cornell Career Services publishes a comprehensive calendar each semester, available in the CDC, listing major events and workshops. The Cornell Career Services online Calendar lists current and upcoming events on an ongoing basis. Student and Career Counselors offer personal, academic, and specialized advising. Student organizations offer values programs and experiential activities throughout the year. |
