Preparing students for life-changing life work.

The College of Human Ecology is pioneering the study of human life from a scientific, social, and aesthetic perspective. Our students learn not only to serve people, but also to understand and analyze the relationships and the institutions that shape their lives.

We are home to approximately 1,300 undergraduates, 200 graduate students, and over 100 full-time faculty. Students enjoy the resources of a large, Ivy League, research university and the advantages of a small school in upstate New York.

Those interested in preparing for careers in health/medicine, law, or business have the flexibility to choose any of our programs to build a comprehensive and interdisciplinary foundation that can be applied to these professional aspirations.

Students pursue programs in:

We often organize our majors into social topics or themes -- design and technology, human nutrition, health and genomics, economic and social well-being, and development and the life course. These themes demonstrate how profoundly interdisciplinary our majors are and how they draw on and inform each other, as well as other programs across Cornell University.

Human Ecology programs are contemporary in focus, flexible and profoundly interdisciplinary. See our Undergraduate Studies page for information on the diverse range of undergraduate courses of study available to you. These programs are pre-professional in focus with a liberal arts foundation.

Visit the Graduate Studies page for more information about our graduate programs.
